Hyundai is developing a new “Metal-Coated Heated Glass” for faster defrosting and improved efficiency in extreme weather. Unlike traditional systems, this 48-volt system clears frost and fog in under five minutes, even in sub-zero temperatures.

The 20-layer glass, used in Hyundai’s electric Genesis models, also reflects sunlight, cooling the cabin and saving energy.

This technology reduces reliance on air-conditioning, conserving power and extending EV range. Hyundai aims to improve efficiency in EVs and prepare for future autonomous systems. The tech promises a cleaner, more efficient driving experience.
