Initially developed using Nvidia’s H100 processors, DeepSeek now operates on Huawei’s Ascend 910C chips, which prioritize inference over training and require less GPU power.

 

Huawei is developing the Ascend 920C, expected to compete with Nvidia’s Blackwell B200 in AI applications. 

 

Despite U.S. trade restrictions, Chinese AI firms are adapting, using alternative chips and domestic innovations to stay competitive. DeepSeek’s rise has also disrupted U.S. tech markets, impacting Wall Street valuations.
