Did you know Zuckerberg Blames Former Executive Sheryl Sandberg During High-Stakes Trump Discussion
Mark Zuckerberg is being accused of throwing one of his former top
executives under the bus for cultural issues during a meeting carried
out with Donald Trump. The news comes at a time when she’s not been a
part of the firm for nearly two years.
The CEO of Facebook was
accused of blaming others during the meeting carried out at Trump’s
residence in Mar-a-Lago last November. This is where the NYT shared more
on promises made by the tech billionaire to not hinder Trump’s workings
when he gets back into the White House starting next week.
There would be no guidelines in place and a host of changes are expected soon, Zuckerberg continued. Some of those were already seen in the form of layoffs that Meta carried out to reset. However, reports from The Times also shared how Zuckerberg did not think twice before sharing his displeasure with former executive Sheryl Sandberg over an inclusivity issue at Facebook. This led to more people from the workforce supporting her idea of self-expression.
The 55-year-old former executive resigned from Facebook three years back but continued as a board member at the parent firm. However, yesterday she bid farewell to Meta completely and has not responded to comments on the matter.
The
news is startling to many as there were no signs in the past of bad
blood between both executives during her resignation. Moreover, the Meta
CEO even went to the extent of penning down a heartfelt post during her
final month to thank her for being his business partner for almost 14
years. He praised her for her loyalty and hard work, calling her the
most amazing person and friend who enabled his growth. If that was not
enough, he even shared that it might not be possible for her empty role
to be filled because of how great she was.
Now, Zuckerberg is making plans to sit front row at Trump’s inauguration next week with Musk and Bezos by his side.
