OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, has announced "Stargate," a $500 billion initiative to develop cutting-edge AI infrastructure across the US within four years.

Supported by SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX, the project has already allocated $100 billion for immediate deployment, aiming to boost jobs, economic growth, and national security.

SoftBank, under Chairman Masayoshi Son, will manage finances, while OpenAI oversees operations. Key collaborators include Arm, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Oracle. Construction has started in Texas, with plans to expand nationwide.

Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX CEO, has questioned the funding, claiming SoftBank has secured less than $10 billion and suggesting potential tension between OpenAI and Microsoft.
Announced at a White House event, Stargate seeks to position the US as a global AI leader.
