Did you know Google To Begin Using AI To Verify Users’ Ages For Its Products
Tech giant Google will begin using AI to determine users’ ages for all of its products.
The company shared the news today
about how it needed age verification checks to see if the appropriate
age bracket was indeed for many of its offerings. The latest technique
will be a part of the company's new blog focus that’s titled, ‘New
Digital Protection for Kids, Teenagers, and Parents’
The
automation would be used through several of its products such as YouTube
as mentioned by one spokesperson. Google already has a user base of
billions and some are below the 18-year age bracket. The company has a
host of restrictions for a wide array of Google services.
This year, they hope to start testing a new machine learning type of
model for age estimation in America. The Core unit is designed to create
the tech base behind the organization’s flagship products that can
protect users and their online safety.
The latest model is
designed to estimate if a user is above or below the 18-year mark so
that they can apply the right protection for more age-appropriate
situations. The new AI move also comes at a time when lawmakers
pressurize online apps to produce more provisions regarding child
safety.
The company hopes to bring more AI-based age estimations
to different nations with time. Meta shared similar features that use
AI to determine when or if someone is lying about their age in
September.
Google and others inside the tech world mentioned how they are ramping up reliance on AI for different tasks and products. With AI, we see many representations on the latest AI front for the Android maker.
