Lenovo’s latest concept at MWC is turning heads a solar-powered laptop that can play an hour of video after just 20 minutes in the sun. The Yoga Solar PC looks like a regular laptop, but its solar panel uses Back Contact Cell tech to maximize sunlight absorption. The concept device sports an OLED display, a 50.2-Wh battery, and a slim 15mm profile, making it surprisingly portable at just 1.22 kg.

Of course, charging while using it could be tricky since the panel is on the lid. To tackle this, Lenovo also showcased a Solar Power Kit, a separate MPPT-equipped solar panel that efficiently converts sunlight into power via USB-C potentially 30% better than older systems.
While similar portable solar chargers already exist, Lenovo’s take could be a game-changer for digital nomads and outdoor workers if they get the pricing and features right. For now, it’s just a concept, but if it makes it to production, it might be the perfect laptop for those who like to work under the sun.
