Japan is diving into the future — literally. A next-generation underwater city, called the Ocean Spiral, is being developed to generate clean energy from the ocean’s own temperature differences.

 

This futuristic city, envisioned by Shimizu Corporation, will stretch deep into the seabed and use Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) to create electricity 24/7. No sun, no wind — just ocean. It may one day provide homes, labs, fresh water, and even agriculture beneath the waves.
