Netflix says the Solo Leveling live-action series is being developed with a top-tier global VFX team

Netflix says the Solo Leveling live-action series is being developed with a top-tier global VFX team, aiming to set a new benchmark for live-action anime adaptations and avoid the mistakes that hurt past projects like Death Note and Cowboy Bebop.
The high-budget Korean production is set to begin filming in late April 2026, with a seven-episode first season planned. Byeon Woo-seok stars as Sung Jinwoo alongside Han So-hee as Cha Hae-in, with Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures behind the project.
The series is putting a strong emphasis on realistic monster designs and heavy-hitting action to properly translate the scale of Solo Leveling to live action.
