In 2009, a 12-year-old girl named Bahia Bakari survived one of the most tragic plane crashes in modern aviation history. She was a passenger on Yemenia Airways Flight 626, which crashed into the Indian Ocean while approaching the Comoros Islands. The aircraft was carrying 153 people, and Bahia was the only survivor.
After the crash, Bahia was thrown into the ocean. Despite being injured and exhausted, she managed to cling to a piece of floating wreckage. She stayed in the dark, open water for about nine hours, surrounded by waves and debris, not knowing if help would come. Eventually, local fishermen spotted her and rescued her, bringing her to safety.
Bahia suffered broken bones and other injuries but survived against incredible odds. Her story shocked the world and remains one of the most remarkable examples of human strength, courage, and survival ever recorded.
