Fool Night Anime Officially Announced  

The series will be produced by Sunrise and SHAFT, and is set to stream exclusively on Netflix in 2026.

Based on the acclaimed manga by Kasumi Yasuda, the story is set in a dystopian future where the sun has disappeared, causing a severe oxygen shortage across Earth.

To help humanity survive, people can choose to undergo a process called Transfloration, turning themselves into plants that produce oxygen in exchange for financial support.

The story follows Toshiro Kamiya, a young man struggling to get by, who decides to undergo the transformation in hopes of building a better future. His choice leads to a powerful story about survival, sacrifice, and what it truly means to be human.
