Alibaba has launched its new AI model, Qwen 2.5-Max, claiming it is more advanced than DeepSeek-V3, a competing AI by DeepSeek.

The release, timed with the Lunar New Year, comes as DeepSeek gains momentum, putting pressure on rivals. DeepSeek’s AI assistant has caught Silicon Valley’s attention for its low development costs and efficiency.

Chinese tech giants like Alibaba and ByteDance are now in a race to improve their AI models. However, DeepSeek’s founder, Liang Wenfeng, says their goal is to develop Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), not just compete on pricing.
