Artificial intelligence dominated 2024, with most companies integrating this transformative technology into their systems. AI ruled over everyone, even the general public with how much they used AI apps like ChatGPT.

ChatGPT’s revenue growth is one of the biggest proof of the success of AI technology, as it has seen consistent growth in 2024, without any decline. Appfigures Intelligence reports that a total of $486 million were spent on ChatGPT by the users in 2024. After the fees of Google and Apple stores, OpenAI got $340 million in total. Most of the ChatGPT’s revenue was generated in Q4 of 2024.

In Q4 of 2024, the mobile app of ChatGPT brought $214 gross revenue, which is about 43% of the total revenue in 2024. Even though ChatGPT’s mobile app came a bit later on Google Play than on App Store, there was a 1033% total increase in app’s revenue between 2023 and 2024 on both platforms overall. This shows that many consumers love using the ChatGPT app on their day to day basis.

Another interesting thing is that most of the revenue of ChatGPT in 2024 (82%) was brought by the Apple App Store. The revenue of ChatGPT on Google Play increased in Q4 too which shows that consumers are quickly downloading the app on Android. Now we have to keep an eye on ChatGPT and see how much more success it is going to achieve.
