Did you know Microsoft Follows In Google’s Footsteps With New Copilot Search Mode
We recently heard about Google working on a new AI Mode for Search and we’re not surprised that other tech companies are following suit.
Software
giant Microsoft is also taking inspiration from the Android maker and
preparing to do something very similar with the latest Bing Copilot
Search mode. This is giving rise to a new Generative AI tech that we
first saw roll out in early last year.
The combination of Bing
with AI search summaries that are based on Copilot might be genius when
we see that’s exactly what Google is trying to produce for AI Overviews
on Search. The latter is already out there for audiences to use.
Microsoft is adding this latest Copilot Search variant for its Bing. Thanks to Windows Latest, we got more insights on how Bing is now displaying search results produced by Copilot on the whole page. Summaries of users’ queries are displayed on most of the page and it also features backlinks to various sources inside summaries.
The feature links out to different pictures and video search results and
gives users the chance to add queries to the page’s bottom. This
feature is quite similar to the Deep Search feature on Bing Copilot. The
only difference now is that it has a more streamlined UI that gets rid
of classic links on the internet as a whole but doesn’t leave Bing
completely as the dedicated Copilot feature does.
The feature is
currently live in the US and Copilot Search is popping up alongside a
new overflow menu with different search filters. The latest interface is
also shown to be up for grabs without pressing on more tabs.
So you can say that this interface is very much like Google’s AI Mode
trials that were shared during this month’s start. The search engine
giant’s is only being tested by the company on an internal level.
Meanwhile, Microsoft did share that it was testing the latest AI search
mode but failed to delineate how many audiences can benefit from it.
