In
2011, Angelina Jolie surprised everyone with a donation of over $2
million to the Naankuse Sanctuary in Namibia, a refuge dedicated to
rescuing animals affected by poaching,
conflict, or habitat loss. The reason behind this generous contribution
is Angelina's deep connection to the Namibian lands, where her
daughter Shiloh was born in 2006. She made the donation as a way to
give back to a place that had given her so much. Thanks to her
contribution, thousands of animals, including lions, leopards, and wild
dogs, have been saved. A decade later, the sanctuary remains active,
continuing its life-saving mission.
