There was a considerable increase (29%) in the number of AI jobs as compared to last year’s report. Although the actual number between jobs and appropriate candidates wasn’t revealed by Indeed, it can be said that there are more postings available than seekers.  Thus, the opportunity is there for AI engineers to utilize. Half of Americans are naive of the smartphone they are using According to a recent survey conducted by  decluttr , approximately half of the Americans are unable to differentiate between two phones. The study included 2,000 adult Americans who were unable to identify the device they were using when looking at the full lineup of the same brand.  Apparently, Samsung Galaxy S9+ was the easiest to distinguish by its users with around 71 percent guessing the model correctly.  iPhone XR and iPhone 7 were the hardest to spot with 56 percent of the owners failing to identify it amongst the row of other iPhone.  Moreover, a majority of Americans consider their phones 5G. Google Says: You’re Going to See More App Ads On iOS Mobile Web Browsers, Here’s Why Google Ads is widening the app ads distribution and it will now be seen frequently on iOS devices, as announced by Rahul Oak, Google's Product Manager for App Ads, in a  Google Ads Help page . From this July, mobile web browsers in iOS devices will display app ads on more searches.  Whenever a query is searched, results will display ads related to different apps. Like when a restaurant is searched, results will show a local food delivery app.  App ads are displayed on Google Play, YouTube and other three million apps and sites that are part of Google.  The campaign reporting for advertisers will include the number of times app is installed and the in-app conversion events from iOS browser. This will help marketers understand how this change is benefiting them. Advertisers do not have to take any action to customize their ads to this new feature. Apple releases its latest transparency report: Shares the takedown requests from government Apple today released its newest transparent report where they revealed all the requests received from the government in the second half of 2018. The Apple Company added a new section that included all the requests from the government worldwide that have asked them to remove a specific app from their App Store.  The PDF of the transparency report  is available on Apple’s official website, but here are the highlights of the report.  According to Apple, they received a total of 80 legal violation take-down requests from 11 countries to remove around 634 apps from their App Stores. If there is a single reviewer, the file is accepted or rejected as per the choice selected. Recently, Security researchers revealed that the app is secretly displaying invisible ads and without user consent and subscribes them to paid services, collectively costing millions of dollars. How this app operates Researchers say that the app contains a suspicious third-party code that allowed the app to automate clicks and to make purchases without user consent. Adware exist in more than 182 Android Apps since 2018 The  researchers from Trend Micro team  recently unveiled a new adware campaign that took place inside the Google Play Store through 111 free-to-download apps. The adware ridden apps are actually games, camera apps, photo editors, etc., these apps expose the inability of Google to keep malware-infected apps out of the Android store. Adware campaign The adware campaign uses 182 apps in total and 111 of these apps were available in the Play Store, while others were found in the 9Apps and the PP Assistant stores. Out of the 111 apps, 68 were duplicates and the remaining apps were unique. After analyzing the features, code characteristics, publishing times, packaging methods and the labels, the researchers found that the adware campaign apps has been live since 2018, but only 8 among those are still available on Play Store until today. The rules were defined in the Robots Exclusion Protocol (REP) and are still considered as an unofficial standard. Although the search engines have endorsed REP during the last 25 years, developers often assign their own meanings as it’s unofficial. Moreover, with time, it has become outdated as well, failing to cater to the use cases of today. Even Google admitted that the ambiguous nature of the standard creates difficulties for website owners to implement the rules correctly.
