One person was killed and another critically injured in a traffic crash Tuesday night in Calumet Heights on the Far South Side. About 8:20 p.m., a 30-year-old man was traveling on his motorcycle with a female passenger in the 1600 block of East 95th Street when they struck the passenger side of a silver Chrysler Pacifica trying to make a left turn to travel east on 95th Street, Chicago police said. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The female passenger, whose age is unknown, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with unspecified injuries and was listed in critical condition, police said. The 26-year old female driver of the Pacifica had an 18-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male with her at the time of the crash, police said. All three were in good condition, police said. Battlegrounds Mobile India is returning some of the items previously unavailable for transfer from PUBG Mobiles via in-game mails. The South Korean developer Krafton has shared through a post on the official website that items like 2021 Spring Mask, McLaren 570S Coupe and its colour options, M16A4 gun, and more will now be available to Battlegrounds Mobile India players who owned these items in PUBG Mobile. Krafton officially released Battlegrounds Mobile India on July 2 and had allowed players to transfer their data like inventory, achievements, currency, and more from PUBG Mobile till July 9. PUBG Mobile was banned in India in September 2020 over data privacy issues. Its developer Krafton came back to India after shedding its China ties with Battlegrounds Mobile India in May this year. Community leaders and supporters at a rally outside the Civilian Office of Police Accountability on Tuesday called for justice for a woman seen in a viral video apparently being grabbed and restrained by a Chicago police officer at North Avenue Beach last weekend. In the video, a Black woman, Nikkita Brown, is seen with her dog as an officer appears to try and force her to leave the area. Brown’s attorney released a statement Sunday calling the incident “an obvious case of racial profiling.” Tuesday’s rally co-organizer Troy Gaston, 39, claims he received footage of the incident and released it to a local TV news station. “I believe that this rally…wakes up our communities to be involved in the movement wrapped around Black liberation,” Gaston said. Smartphone shipments will continue to grow as emerging markets are showing strong recovery following the COVID-19 related lockdowns. Latest data from research firm IDC suggests that in 2021 global smartphone shipments are expected to grow by 7.4 percent. The larger markets will still show lower shipment volumes compared to 2019 (pre-pandemic) but growing markets are expected to contribute to the recovery. The firm also notes that 5G smartphones are the main driving factor of the growth. Compared to smartphone shipment volumes in 2019, last year and this year have shown minimal growth but growth nonetheless, as per latest data by International Data Corporation ( IDC ).
